The version of slcp caf will be upgraded from v1.3 to v1.4. after the upgrade, the list of problems will be simpler and the operation will be simpler. What is particularly striking is that the problem points of the new slcp are reduced by about 30%, which is expected to be welcomed by the industry. Caf of slcp means fusion evaluation framework, which can be simply understood as an assembly of three parts: data collection tools, verification protocols and related guidelines. Ok, it is estimated that some readers are still a little dizzy with this word.

The difference is that v1.4 is shorter, simpler, more convenient to use and more compatible with regulations than v1.3.


The main details are as follows:


  1. Reduce the number of validation data clauses. Redundancy and duplication issues have been removed from v1.4, and the overall validation data clauses have been reduced by 29%.


   2. Redefine Step to shorten the time required for the factory to complete the evaluation. The new version of Step 1 is called Essential, which focuses on key social labor data, mainly related to International Labor Standards (ILS) and National Labor Law (NLL); The new version of Step 2 is called Progressive, which includes all the problems of Step 1, as well as non-critical social labor compliance issues and management system issues. These non-critical problems often appear in social industries and certification standards; Step 3 is called Advance, which includes all the problems of Step 1 and Step 2, and exceeds the social responsibility industry standard. These problems are not required by the state or international law, but seek to improve the well-being of the workplace and the influence of the community.


  3. Strengthen the consistency with international labor standards and national labor laws. The problem points have been revised to better determine whether they conform to national and international laws.


  4. Improved offline excel user interface. The new excel tool is more friendly, all the problems are in one table, and there is no current "stop loading" problem. In addition, the color coding has been improved to guide the verifier on the problems to be verified.


  5. Introduction of the factory guide: Help the factory better understand the assessment process and how to complete the self-assessment. It also highlights the opportunity for employees to participate in the self-assessment process.

The new version of SLCP was completed in October 2020 through cooperation between SLCP and ILO)-Better Work (BW), and will be launched in March 2021. In Indonesia, Vietnam and Bangladesh, the start-up time will be delayed. Before March 2021, enterprises can still use v1.3 version for self-evaluation and verification, and the data will still be stored on SLCP gateway and hosting platform after March 2021, and can be accessed and used. After March 2021, only v1.4 version can be used for self-evaluation and verification.
